"Hang on Lads, I've got an Idea, Er Er"
My Little Bit of Fun!.

Life's a blast.

After spending 10 years with British Coal in their Pensions office, I moved into sales, currently working as a Business Unit Manager Account for BRITA Water Filters.

Married to Joanne Swanwick with a daughter, Sophie (My Shadow) and son Ben.

When I have spare time at the weekends, and am not standing on a cold wet football pitch watching Alfreton Town Juniors, supporting (well shouting) at there No. 1, who is actually very good, (Come you red's sign him up). I can be found under my new toy, an 18 year old Mini Cooper.

It's not yet perfect, but I am getting there with loads of American Burr Walnut internally and lots of new chrome outside to make it really stand out.

When she is complete and I am happy she will make the trip, I intend to drive to Turin and follow in the footsteps of Charlie Crocker and the "Self Preservation Society"

UK to Italy, October/November .

This is one of the more impressively eccentric events on the European calendar. Inspired by 1969 film The Italian Job, a sponsored Mini Cooper rally heads across the Alps to Turin and then heads back to the UK - with the proceeds going to a range of children's charities. - CLICK HERE TO LOOK AT THEIR SITE.

I have been obsessed with this film since first seeing it at the age of 8. Whilst at a family BBQ, I sneaked inside to watch TV as the adults froze outside watching the poor Chinese fireworks. That was it "I WAS HOOKED". Until then, I had never really been fascinated by anything, but this was fantastic and it started my live long love affair with Michael Caine and 100% British Mini's.

The quintessential British caper film is a, fast romp that chases a team of career criminals throughout one of the biggest international gold heists in history.

Caine as Charlie Croker is a stylish robber (His shirts are handmade by "Adrian") who takes on a complicated plan to hijack gold bullion from Italy -- right from underneath the noses of the Italian Police and the Mafia.

He turns for help to the eccentric Mr. Bridger, a regal and incarcerated crime boss with a peculiar fascination with the Queen. Bridger provides Croker with a quirky group of Britain's most infamous computer hackers, bank robbers, hijackers, and getaway drivers.

The Italian Job is a quick, fun celebration of British ingenuity and wit. Its style is fast, gaudy, and hilarious; its players are clever, flippant, and rakish.

The scheme to steal gold bullion while distracting the police with a traffic jam proves excellent fodder for antics and for me some of the very best car chases seen.

The film ends in the patriotic flair of the British flag as red, white, and blue Mini-coopers race through Italy, driving over buildings and waterfalls and into the Italian hillside.
